MUSLIM ENTREPRENEUR CO-AUTHORS BESTSELLER SUPPORTING GLOBAL FEMALE EMPOWERMENT AS WRITERS SHARE THEIR STORIES OF COURAGE

This week, a female entrepreneur from Hertfordshire has co-authored a collaboration book that has brought together Muslim women from across the UK as they each share their personal stories of courage and taking back control of their life – and within hours of its release she became a bestselling author.

‘Courage is my Crown’ went straight in at Number 1 on the Amazon bestseller charts in Top 100 paid, Amazon Hot New Releases, Amazon Best Sellers and Hot New Releases in Reference & Collection Biographies. It tells the stories of 11 Courageous Muslim women each sharing their inspirational truths to help other women break free from cultural boundaries and expectations.

Tabassum Sabir, 37, from Hertfordshire has collaborated together with 10 other Muslim women whose courageous and inspiring stories include: post natal depression; self-esteem; grief; overcoming domestic abuse; a battle with a rare cancer; beating bullying, anxiety, mental and physical abuse; surviving parental loss, financial, emotional and physical abuse, and debt. Despite their traumatic and harrowing pasts, each contributor has found the strength and faith to wear courage as their crown and rewrite their story, turning their adversity into strength.

Tabassum, a business mentor and founder of Be-you-tiful, has lived a life that should have left her broken.  Suffering from low self esteem and battling with her confidence after becoming a stay at home mum, Tabassum had been working from the age of 15 and was now settling into time at home with her newborn where she completely lost her confidence and self esteem.  Previously confident in the corporate world working for the top Pharmaceutical company in the world for almost 10 years she struggled with staying at home full time in a home that was not her own.  After suffering with years of low self esteem and suffering from undiagnosed post natal depression she found temporary distraction in several business ventures including Network Marketing where she was first introduced to the world of Personal Development.

It was here when Tabassum found that she couldn’t make a consistent income because she was battling with deep seated traumas, in fact she couldn’t keep focused on anything for very long enough to make it a success.  Tabassum knew she had to fight back for the sake of her two sons.  She quickly managed to turn adversity into triumph by going on to enable other women’s empowerment and helping them find the courage they needed to turn their lives around and in the process, herself becoming a #1 best selling author by sharing her story of wearing courage as her crown.

Sharing her own story has been a huge step for Tabassum and she is proud to help other muslim women  take the leap too.  “Women are half of society, and they raise the other half of society.  It’s so important to have strong resilient women who do not constantly beat themselves up for being human.  A content mother, wife, daughter really does make for a happy home.  It also helps us from passing traumas generation after generation.  The buck stops with me.”

She continues “Co-authoring this book was terrifying, but it was no longer about me or about any of us.  It was now about making sure that when a woman was feeling like she had no way out and she no longer possessed the courage to continue she could go to this book and read that women just like her had been in situations just like she has been, and they wore courage as their crown just like she can.  That she might not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel but it is definitely there.  These authors also touch on their faith as their strength and breaking cultural barriers.  In a day where women in the Muslim community are see as oppressed and violated this book shares 11 courageous stories to sample a handful of the many empowered women in our community because of their faith not in spite of it.”

‘Each of the women who have contributed to this book have come on their own momentous journey. We are all co-authors brought together by this powerful book because we have come through healing and now stand in the light of our own strength. From this place we share our whole stories as a powerful and inspirational gift to other women who aren’t yet on the other side of healing. It takes bravery to lay bare past vulnerabilities and hurt, so I am honoured to be such a book with these women who have shared themselves so completely’.’
