Inspiration vs Copying

With so many of us online at the moment it’s so easy to take Inspiration from others.  But where does the fine line of taking inspiration end and the copying begin?  I got asked this questions a few times in my inbox this week so I thought I would share my own experience being accused of copying someone in my circle.

Limiting beliefs:

It really comes down to a few things:

  1.  Are you being authentic to you?
  2. How do you feel about yourself?
  3. Are you worthy of being seen?
  4. Do you have Imposter Syndrome?

Once you have answered these questions maybe its time to crack your limiting beliefs wide open.

Who do you think you are?

I have spoken about Imposter Syndrome in length especially when you feel this way and then anyone points a finger at you and says you are drawing more then inspiration from them – it can be really painful, especially if this person is/’was really important to you.

The key to remember is that you have clearly scratched a scab for them.  They are beginning to feel something watching you succeed and believe me that has nothing to do with you.  You can only do you and do your best.  If your goals are soul centred and authentic then you won’t have anything to worry about!  You keep on your path and stay true to who you are.  This can be extremely challenging if you were once a people pleaser like me.

Fortunately at the time I was registered to an amazing course called Dare To Be Seen with Chocolate PR, Jo and Jo both really helped me to position my story and really understand that I needed to get my message out there more then ever.  Now was not the time to be a shrinking violet!

I share my views on the topic of Inspiration vs Copying below in a video.
